Job Overview:

Barclays is hiring a Sr Front End Developer to join its Markets Post Trade division in Pune. The role involves designing, developing, and enhancing software solutions using modern frontend technologies while contributing to the technological innovation driving Barclays’ financial systems.

As a Sr Front End Developer, you’ll create high-quality, user-centric web applications, collaborate across product and design teams, and participate in all phases of the development lifecycle. You will play a pivotal role in driving UI/UX quality and technical excellence while working in a highly agile and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain enterprise-grade frontend applications using React and JavaScript frameworks.
• Collaborate with product managers, UI/UX designers, and backend developers to translate business requirements into functional user interfaces.
• Ensure applications are scalable, maintainable, and secure.
• Write comprehensive test suites for frontend code to ensure reliability and performance.
• Use version control systems (Git), CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/GitLab CI), and containerization platforms (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, retrospectives, and code reviews.
• Create system architecture diagrams and maintain documentation.
• Champion secure coding practices and contribute to enterprise governance and security standards.

Role Expectations:

• Lead and mentor junior developers; contribute to architectural decisions.
• Develop technical solutions for complex and large-scale challenges in investment banking.
• Drive best practices in frontend architecture, testing, and DevOps.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and Barclays’ technology initiatives.
• Guide and influence stakeholders and collaborate across various departments.

Key Technology Skills:

React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Git, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, UI/UX, Authentication/Authorization protocols, Agile methodology, AWS/Azure/GCP (preferred), Java 8+ (nice to have)

Requirements:

• Proven experience with React and JavaScript in building enterprise web applications.
• Strong foundation in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and frontend architecture principles.
• Experience working in investment banking or capital markets is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI.
• Understanding of containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Ability to create system architecture diagrams and maintain detailed documentation.
• Good grasp of secure coding practices and enterprise security frameworks.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and backend technologies like Java is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Willingness to mentor, collaborate, and take ownership in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
